Volunteer Opportunities

Monofilament Recycling Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to check the following monofilament recycling station locations.  Stations should be checked approximately monthly and emptied of fishing line and trash.  Clean fishing line is then taken to a drop-off location for recycling.  If you are interested in volunteering for one or more of these locations, please contact Maia at 386-437-7464 or mpmcg@ufl.edu.

Sea Grant Needs Volunteers to Help at Festivals

If you would be willing to help staff a booth or conduct activities with elementary-age students, please contact Maia at 386-437-7464 or mpmcg@ufl.edu.  Training will be provided.  Examples of festivals include the Water Education Festival (first Saturday in February at MOSH, Jacksonville), Earth Day Festivals (Washington Oaks State Park & St. Augustine), Ag Ventures programs (Callahan, Flagler County, St. Johns Fairgrounds) at different times throughout the school year, First Coast Birding & Nature Festival Kids Days, Splash into Science nights (various nights in Duval and St. Johns Counties).
