4-H is always looking for volunteers from the community who can help with various 4-H projects/activities. Parents, Grandparents, and 4-H Alumni provide a great source for volunteers, please call the 4-H Office today and let us know how you can help 904-209-0430.
Please read over the following Volunteer opportunities to see how you may assist with the many activities the St. Johns County 4-H Youth Program provides.
- Citizenship - involves mentoring 4-H County Council and/or mentoring and chaperoning youth at 4-H Legislature.
- Agriculture - involves planning and coordinating a fun and educational hands on experience for 4th grade youth.
- Baking - involves conducting baking workshops for 4-H youth.
- Photography - involves conducting photography workshops for 4-H youth to assist them with 4-H photo contests.
- Art - involves teaching an art media to 4-H youth.
- Gardening - involves working with afterschool and school enrichment groups with garden projects.
- Embryology - involves working with school enrichment groups interested with the embryology project.
- Beginning Sewing - involves working with 4-H youth interested in sewing.
- Forestry - involves developing and implementing a master plan for the 4-H forest (S.R. 207).
- Wildlife - involves working with youth to prepare for the state Wildlife Habitat and Evaluation Program” contest.
- Consumer Choices - involves working with youth to prepare for county and state consumer choice judging contests.
- Fashion Modeling - involves coordinating a fashion show workshop for 4-H youth participating in 4-H Fashion Revue.
- Community Service - involves writing a Community Pride Grant Proposal (October) and implementing the proposed service and final report (May) if granted.
- Theater Arts - involves developing a group of 4-H youth in the area of music, theater or dance.
- Woodworking - involves conducting woodworking workshops for 4-H youth.
- Public Relations - involves writing and submitting articles about 4-H activities, events and program highlights for local media.
- Entrepreneurship - assist youth in exploring the world of creating their own business.
- Coordinating Fair Judging Contests (November )
- Volunteer in the 4-H office to help with general office duties (days and times are flexible).
