These activities have been created by or suggested by Florida marine educators.
- A Closer Look Activity Guide (New England Aquarium). Contains fish activities.
- Observation and Description of Organisms activity
- Invert Alert. Activity designed for use with oyster reef studies.
- Marine Larvae--Are you me? Activity to introduce the larval (planktonic) forms of several marine animals.
- Mark-Recapture Lab. Activity from Access Excellence. Simulation of mark-recapture technique using beans. Great as a classroom introduction prior to a field activity.
- Field sampling equipment. An annotated list of field gear and uses developed for the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind.
- Field science on a shoestring budget. Document prepared to give teachers suggestions of ways to cut costs when aquiring field gear. Contains instructions for making several types of field sampling gear.
- Sapelo Island: Georgia's Coastal Treasure. Document contains lots of information and great activities for coastal saltmarsh & beach habitats. Includes "Too Many Crabs"--classroom simulation of quadrat study--a great activity to do with students before using quadrats in the field.
- Snail Lab. Classroom lab to measure snail crawling speed.
- Fish tank territories. Activity from Woods Hole to observe fish behavior.

- Beach profiles (MA Sea Grant). I use a modified version of the profiling rods described in this bulletin. Instead of wooden poles, I use PVC. I use 1" painter's tape to mark the 1" increments on the vertical poles.
