4-H Extension Seeks Adult Volunteers To Work with 4-H Youth
St. Johns County 4-H Youth Development Program is seeking caring adult volunteers to work with 4-H youth ages 5-18 in St. Johns County.
As a 4-H club leader, 4-H volunteers have an opportunity to share their interests with youth. Whether it is sewing, rocketry, gardening, animal science, character education, photography – the reward of sharing your interest with a young person is priceless. Through a “learn by doing” experience, 4-H volunteers help youth learn leadership, citizenship and a variety of lifelong skills.
4-H Club Leader Volunteers have the flexibility to determine the amount of time, location and subject area for their club. Volunteers receive full assistance of the Cooperative Extension office, including training, office support, curriculum and event/activity coordination.
4-H Volunteers are important members of the 4-H team. Volunteer assistance enables 4-H to reach a greater number of young people. Also, to help youth develop leadership and communication skills through hands-on activities designed to develop the whole person: head, heart, hands and health. 4-H has hundreds of project areas to choose from, and programming flexibility to meet the busy lifestyles and varying interests of today’s families.
Right now in our community there are young people who need you. They need an adult who cares about them, an adult they can look up to. If you can contribute even a few hours a month, please call Geralyn Sachs, 4-H Agent, at the St. Johns County Cooperative Extension 4-H Office at 904-209-0430 to find out how you can help “Make the Best Better” in St. Johns County.
